Emergency C-Sections at Kabudula Hospital Save Lives of Mothers and Newborns

Kabudula Community Hospital’s sole clinical officer, Aubrey Nsunza, was very ill with malaria when he was called to treat two critical cases in one night.  Two full term pregnant women with severe vaginal bleeding came to Kabudula from distances of more than 40kms.  Due to the fuel shortages in Malawi, one woman had to travel by ox cart.  Within 2 hours, each mother was rushed to the Operating Room, where Aubrey performed emergency C-sections.  Aubrey’s quick and heroic efforts  saved the lives of both the mothers and their newborns.  One father was crying in relief after Aubrey gave him the details of his daughter’s birth.  We are happy to report that both mothers and babies are healthy and doing well.
