WAM Donated Medicines Save Woman’s Life

A.R. is a 45 year old woman who was referred to Kabudula Hospital from Kongoni Health Center with a high fever, loss of consciousness, and vaginal bleeding. At Kabudula, she was diagnosed with severe malaria and promptly treated with medicine made available through the generosity of WAM donors. AR improved dramatically within 48 hours. She also was found to have had a miscarriage and was successfully treated. She received long-term family planning, and was discharged from the hospital. Without the skills of Kabudula’s staff and the WAM-donated medications, she may have had a much worse outcome from both of these potentially dangerous conditions.
